BAE Systems has launched a recruitment drive for 100 engineers, which it describes as a ‘once-in-a-generation opportunity’. Positions involved include design, mission systems, integration and software disciplines, and the roles range from apprentices and graduates to experienced posts and management. The aerospace company says it is recruiting engineers for its site in Brough, Humberside “in response to increased demands to support vital defence programmes which will provide next-generation capability for the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy”. Specifically, it is working on the Tempest combat aircraft programme and the Dreadnought submarine fleet. Much of the work there – it currently employs around 700 people – involves design, test and evaluation, it says, involving novel digital engineering technologies such as synthetic modelling and model-based systems engineering. “I am proud to see the work at Brough continue to make an important contribution to the nation’s defence and security requirements,” said the Brough Site General Manager, James Hardstaff. “It’s an exciting time to join the business, as we take on some really complex and ambitious engineering challenges to support the delivery of the Royal Air Force’s Tempest programme and the Royal Navy’s Dreadnought submarine.” More information about the BAE Systems air system jobs can be found here and the submarine related information is here .
