Dairy briefs July 23, 2021 Certified B Corporation and artisan cheese maker Rogue Creamery said it was recognized on yet another level: as a 2021 Best for the World B Corporation, ranking in the top 5% of B Corps worldwide for its positive impact on people and planet. Central Point, Ore.-based Rogue Creamery was named Best for the World specifically for its environmental impact — one of five impact areas assessed by B Lab, the global nonprofit network that certifies B Corporations and administers the Best for the World recognition. “What an honor it is to be recognized Best for the World among such an inspiring community of businesses, all dedicated to the greater good,” commented David Gremmels, president of Rogue Creamery. “I am proud of my team for their commitment to our values, and to consciously conserving our planet’s precious resources.” Nightfood Holdings Inc., Tarrytown, N.Y., announced the airing of the company’s first video ads on connected TV and “over-the-top” TV (OTT) to consumers across the country. With its recent introduction into Walmart freezers, Nightfood sleep-friendly ice cream is now available in almost 2,000 supermarkets across the United States, including divisions of Kroger, Albertson’s and H-E-B, as well as Rouses Markets, Lowes Foods and other independent chains. The precision ad campaign started July 21 and is being coordinated and executed by the advertising agency of Jekyll & Hyde Labs, a full-service ad agency dedicated to scaling CPG challenger brands, the company said. Nightfood ads will appear on OTT and connected TV (CTV) and will reach users of popular ad-supported network services such as Hulu, Roku, FUBO and Sling TV, as well as apps such as ESPN, A&E, Fox, Discovery Channel and more. Silk, a brand of White Plains, N.Y.- and Broomfield, Colo.-based Danone North America said a national taste test recently declared Silk the best-tasting Original “oatmilk,” and it is celebrating its new status as the “Greatest ‘Oatmilk’ of All Time” in a G.O.A.T.-filled campaign featuring a range of category-defining legends. The brand partnered with the greatest in their own fields — from chefs to cheerleaders and movie stars — to welcome Silk “oatmilk” to the club. These fellow G.O.A.T.s raised a glass and shared their love for this delicious newcomer. Gordon Ramsay, G.O.A.T. of yelling in kitchens: “Well, it took my kids getting on me, but now I really enjoy cooking more plant-based dishes at home and in my restaurants. The PMMI Foundation, a part of Herndon, Va.-based PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, said it awarded three $5,000 scholarships to students studying food and beverage processing, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering at four-year PMMI education partners. The recipients of these scholarships are: Gaurav Aggarwal, Rutgers University, Mechanical Engineering Scholarship. Suhayb Islam, Rutgers University School of Engineering, Processing Scholarship. Daniel Tinnell, Purdue University, Electrical Engineering Scholarship. The PMMI Foundation said it awards more than $200,000 in funds each year to students enrolled in PMMI education partner programs, demonstrating PMMI’s commitment to developing future leaders of the packaging and processing industry. Tompkins Solutions, a Raleigh, N.C.-headquartered supply chain consulting and services firm, said it named Randy Price vice president of the material handling integration division. In this role, Price will be responsible for engaging with customers on new and legacy projects and overseeing the engineering and controls teams for the division. Price has more than 30 years of experience providing material handling and logistics design and implementation services to clients in a wide variety of industries, including automotive, pharmaceutical and consumer goods, among others. Prior to joining Tompkins, he was vice president of Hirata Corporation of America, a global industrial equipment manufacturer, where he led the sales and delivery of material handling integration and production systems solutions. Eriez President and CEO Lukas Guenthardt announced that the company selected Eric Adams to serve as managing director for its newly established Eriez Deutschland GmbH, based in Recklinghausen, Germany. In his new role, Adams will lead efforts to increase Erie, Pa.-based Eriez’ presence throughout central Europe, including Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Eriez offers magnetic separation, metal detection, material handling, fluid recycling and advanced flotation technologies for the processing, packaging, food and other industries. St. Louis-headquartered packaging company TricorBraun said it appointed Susan Bergethon senior vice president and general counsel. Reporting to President and CEO Court Carruthers, Bergethon will lead TricorBraun’s legal function and oversee the company’s ESG practice. Bergethon’s appointment marks TricorBraun’s first in-house general counsel. She joins TricorBraun from Georgia-Pacific, where she served as chief counsel for the company’s largest business division, TricorBraun said. Avery Dennison, Glendale, Calif., announced the launch of Sustainable ADvantage, its new flagship products and solutions portfolio, “setting the benchmark for innovation and sustainability.” While many products and solutions within the portfolio have been readily available, bringing them together under one identifiable umbrella will give customers confidence in meeting their own sustainability goals, the company said. The solutions within the range include adhesives that enable more plastic to be recycled, water-efficient digital printers, labels and tags made with 100% certified paper, industrial tapes to replace heavier fasteners, compostable paper packaging for shipping, digital ID technologies and tools and services to empower companies to make both their products and operations more sustainable, the company said.
