Jay Smith founded Webscale Networks in 2012 and currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer of the Company. Jay received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Colorado State University in 2008. Jay has co-authored over 30 peer reviewed articles in the area of parallel and distributed computing systems. In addition to his academic publications, while at IBM, Jay received over 20 patents and numerous corporate awards for the quality of those patents. Jay left IBM as a Master Inventor in 2008 to focus on High Performance Computing at DigitalGlobe. There, Jay pioneered the application of GPGPU processing within DigitalGlobe.

In a career spanning three decades, Kittu has experienced success as a serial entrepreneur, CEO, senior operating executive, and venture capitalist. Kittu is a Distinguished Alumnus of IIT Madras. He started his career as a software engineer at Silicon Graphics, and later co-founded his first startup, Healtheon/WebMD, which went public in 1999. He then served as the founding CEO of Neoteris, a company respected as much for its stellar team, fiscal management, and culture, as its category creation and leading SSL-based access technology. Following Neoteris’ acquisition, he ran the enterprise security and routing business as EVP/GM at Juniper Networks before becoming a General Partner at NEA in 2006. Kittu left NEA at the end of 2016 to launch Neotribe Ventures in early 2017 with the mission of investing in breakthrough technologies that stretch the imagination! As an investor, Kittu has been actively involved with such companies as Aruba Networks, Bloom Energy, The Climate Corporation, Box, Robinhood, Metromile, Velocloud, Cyence, ClearMotion, and MindTickle.
