This is an exceptional opportunity for an accounting professional with experience working through technical accounting issues and establishing processes and controls to ensure accurate and timely revenue reporting. This is a newly created position within our team, and is the first role within the company that will be solely dedicated to revenue recognition. Formed in response to our rapid growth, this position will require the ability to respond to issues in real time, in addition to the ability to implement processes and procedures to handle the same issues moving forward. As a member of our Corporate Accounting team, this position will be the driving force behind our revenue recognition process, and will also support legal and sales in the contract negotiation process. Responsibilities: Review customer arrangements to ensure consistent application of revenue recognition policies in accordance with relevant accounting literature and corporate policy. Support contract negotiations by reviewing new contracts and order forms before signature to ensure deal structure does not cause revenue recognition issues. Assist in the monthly close process by reviewing posted revenue to ensure recognition is in compliance with US GAAP and revenue-recognition technical standards. Prepare Fair Value (i.e., BESP) analysis of historical sales activities for purposes of proper revenue allocation to multiple-element arrangements. Evaluate and assess the impact of new revenue pronouncements on revenue recognition. Prepare revenue technical memos and be the key interface with the Company’s external auditors with regards to all revenue recognition matters. Responsible for the generation, implementation and compliance of revenue operations and recognition policies and procedures. Maintain and continually assess internal controls surrounding revenue recognition to ensure SOX 404 compliance. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting and active CPA certification. 7+ years experience in SaaS (software-as-a-service), services revenue recognition at a publicly traded software company and public accounting. Detailed knowledge of relevant accounting rules (e.g. SAB 10 and ASC 605-25, including ASU 2009-13) relating to SaaS (under a subscription model) and services revenue recognition and multiple-element arrangements Experience with reviewing and analyzing customer orders and contracts to identify revenue related issues for resolution and proper accounting treatment. Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner. Demonstrated ability to effectively work with all levels and cross-functionally within the company, including Legal, Sales, FP&A, Client Services and Product Management. Continuous improvement attitude; ability to seek out and implement internal and external best practices. Strong analytical skills with a sharp focus on details.
