Bobby is a General Partner at ABS Capital Partners whose investment interests and experience include technology companies.</br>
He currently represents ABS Capital on the boards of Alarm.com Incorporated, INVISION, Inc., Quofore, Inc., Renew Data Corporation and INTTRA, Inc.
With 10 years of experience investing in growth companies at ABS Capital, Laura brings a wealth of perspectives to address the strategic and operational issues facing high-growth companies. She has been an active investor in the software and technology services sectors, working with these companies to capitalize on shifts in the competitive landscape, to build effective sales and distribution, and to seize on opportunities to further expand their product offerings. Laura has helped her companies to recruit new executives, pursue acquisitions, and plan for new product direction. Laura has also played a key role with portfolio companies in other sectors that have needed to address their technology or internet strategy to strengthen their core business. In addition, Laura has significant international experience, having previously worked in London and Frankfurt as a strategy consultant, working with clients on international growth opportunities. Prior to joining ABS Capital in 1997, Laura was a senior consultant at Monitor Company, a strategy consulting firm advising clients on growth strategies, new technologies, and mergers & acquisitions. Previously, she was a consultant with Oliver, Wyman & Company, a specialist consulting firm serving clients in the financial services industry, where she advised companies on technology, growth strategy, and acquisitions.
Dr. William Guttman is Special Advisor to the Provost of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), and Chairman of iCarnegie, CMU's for-profit education company. Earlier, he co-founded CMU's Cylab, one of the world's largest university-based research initiatives focused on dependability and security in software and networked systems. Dr.Guttman has also played an instrumental role in a number of tech transfers at CMU. He most recently co-founded and serves as chairman of Panopto, a video-search software company.
Dr. Guttman is also Investment Partner and leads the financial technology practice at Philadelphia-based TL Ventures. In addition to his investing activities on behalf of TL, he has founded, co-founded, or held other leadership roles in more than a dozen institutionally backed ventures. He served as chief executive at several of these companies, including Printcafe (NASDAQ: PCAF), a 500-person software developer acquired by Electronics for Imaging (NASDAQ: EFII).
Earlier in his career, Dr. Guttman served in advisory capacities to the United States, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the OECD. He is the author of Pacific-Asian Capital Markets (OECD/Oxford & IBH), Between Bailout and Breakdown: A Modular Approach to the Latin American Debt Crisis (Center for Strategic and International Studies), Telecommunications Policy in Sub-Saharan Africa (U.S. Agency for International Development), along with other publications and patents. He completed his master's and doctoral degrees at Balliol College, Oxford University, where he was a British Council Scholar.
