HomeBuddyCollection Announces Its Second Product The HandyHose Now Available On

Dec 18, 2013

The HomeBuddy HandyHose hits the market just in time for the Christmas rush. This 50ft expandable garden hose is built to last. ( EMAILWIRE.COM , December 18, 2013 ) Seattle, WA -- The HomeBuddy HandyHose has finally hit the market in time for Christmas. Nick Stein the CEO of Red Gorilla Marketing based in London England holding company of US based HomeBuddyCollection, announced that after huge delays due to design changes, their latest shrinking garden hose is now ready for sale in the US, albeit 6 months late. Having missed the summer period, Mr Stein is still hopeful that the garden hose will still sell well in the southern United States. Early indications are proving him to be correct. He claims that indeed their new product is selling in most parts of the States, but with a large proportion being snapped up in Florida, Southern California and Alabama. To encourage sales, the price has been reduced by 20% to $39.97 which will be maintained into the New Year. The design delays were a result of the need to perfect the product for the American market. Mr Stein was not willing to compromise on quality to rush through the development and manufacture of the HandyHose. He boasted that this is just the first of a range of garden products that are now being considered for production during 2014. The concept of a re-coiling or expandable garden hose is not new. HomeBuddy looked at a number of different approaches to the design and toyed with the idea of a hose similar to the bestselling pocket hose . This type of design had too many faults in Mr Stein's opinion. He stated that their tests showed these hoses were unreliable, they leaked after a couple of uses and the water pressure was extremely weak, so we had to find a more robust solution. Using a fabric for the hose would have had the advantage of easier storage and being very light, would have been very easy to handle, but ultimately this was not enough reason to go with this design. It was decided that a hose design more akin to your more traditional garden hose using a lead safe, very flexible polyurethane material was chosen to ensure longevity, reliability and good water pressure. At each end of the hose chrome plated brass couplers are attached. The chrome plating protects from corrosion and oxidation and the couplers are designed to allow easy attachment to taps and hose accessories. Specially designed toughened rubber strain reliefs at each end help prevent snagging. This hose is available from only at a length of 50 foot at the moment. HomeBuddy are testing whether a 75 foot hose is workable. A smaller 25 foot hose is also being considered, Red Gorilla Marketing are currently undergoing market research in the UK to see if there is enough demand in the market to consider the smaller hose. In their product spec, HomeBuddy state that the 50 foot hose easily stretches to 40 foot and advise not to over-stretch the product. HomeBuddyCollection and Red Gorilla have a new product announcement to make in their kitchen range, the SwiftCut Vegetable Mandolin will be ready for sale in the next few days.
