Our product is a professional forum for scholars to discuss peer-reviewed publications. According to ResearchGate (social network for scientists), there are 7 million scholars worldwide. Every year, hundreds of papers are published at scholarly journals/conferences in each research area. A scholar can only afford to thoroughly read a handful of them. For most of the papers, the scholar typically reads the Introduction part, which provides little to readers in that authors tried their best to augment contributions and hide weaknesses in order for their work to be accepted by top-notch journals/conferences. Our forum solves this problem by creating an incentive system to encourage a few scholars to write summaries for most papers. Assuming each active user writes 10 summaries, we only need 30 such users to cover a whole area with 300 papers. The incentive includes bonus points for each summary, and more points if liked by others. The summaries then serve the whole community of scholars.
