Whether open seasonally or year-round, Mom and Dad pizzerias are a staple of island life for visitors and locals alike. So whether you’re gearing up for Night in Venice weekend, taking a day trip to the beach, or just want a good pizza, here’s a list of popular pizza places in Ocean City, New Jersey. Open on site or to take away, they also prepare sandwiches, salads and pasta dishes. Manco and Manco Pizza Since opening its first pizzeria in 1956, Manco’s Pizza has been an Ocean City tradition, making its pizzas with a thin crust and unique cheese-to-sauce ratio. They have three locations on the Ocean City promenade: on 9th street when you walk on the promenade (where the Strand theater used to be), between 8th street and Plymouth Place, then the third location is on 12th street on the walk next to Jilly’s Arcade. Mario’s Pizzeria and Restaurant Even though they’ve been under new ownership since June 2020, Mario’s still offers the same great food and stacked menu options. Since 1977 the pizza options at Mario’s have been more diverse than most popular pizzerias on the boardwalk and since they are open daily, year round for lunch and dinner, it is a great restaurant offering something to eat for everyone. Piccini Wood Fried Brick Oven Pizza As soon as you walk through the door you get the aromas of the wood fired pizza being cooked and you begin to understand why this is one of the most popular pizzerias in Ocean City. For nearly 30 years, Piccini’s has been preparing traditional and gourmet pizzas in its brick oven as well as a complete and varied menu for lunch and dinner. They are open all year round and seven days a week for on-site or take-out orders. Pisa Pizza has been an Ocean City boardwalk staple for over 40 years and is a throwback environment to what pizzerias were before the turn of the century. Located off 10th Street on the boardwalk next to Playland Castaway Cove, Preps prides itself on serving high quality cuisine and its pizzas are in the debate for the best on the island. Primavera makes traditional, artisan pizzas in the style of the traditional Boardwalk Pies that the Jersey Shore is famous for serving. Located on the boardwalk just north of 7th Street, Roma is more than just great pizza, they’re also famous for their meatballs and friendly service.
