By Bhawna Gupta July 7, 2017 Media giant BCCL has exited its investment in Yatra Inc, cloud computing platform Minjar has raised an undisclosed amount of funding even as Navigant Technologies has acquired specialised outsourcing firm Quick Call. BCCL exits Yatra for around $6m Media giant Bennett Coleman & Co Ltd (BCCL) has exited its investment in online travel portal Yatra Inc , according to the Yatra’s annual report for FY17. BCCL has sold its equity-convertible warrants in Yatra Online, Inc. for Rs 39 crore (around $6 million). “This was structured like a commercial advertising deal, which is why the returns are not like [those] from an equity investment. It was a deal struck in 2011 where payout was linked to the public listing process, which is why we decided to pay the amount for ads utilised in the past six years. Some part of it was cash at that time, and the rest was credit line that ultimately got paid now,” said Alok Vaish, group CFO, Yatra. Cloud startup Minjar gets funding from Blume, others Cloud computing startup Minjar has raised an undisclosed amount of funding in pre-Series A funding round led by Blume Ventures . Early-stage funds Contrarian Capital and Emergent Ventures, and individual investors Pallav Nadhani, founder of FusionCharts, Helion Ventures co-founder Ashish Gupta, Indus Khaitan of SirionLabs, and Sharad Sharma of iSpirt also participated in the round, according to a Times of India report . The startup will use the proceeds for its expansion into US market. Founded in 2012 by tech professionals Vijay Rajapati, Anand, and Aparna Sharma, Minjar provides a cloud platform that helps companies manage operations. It previously raised around $900k in seed funding from Silicon Valley-based Emergent Ventures. Navigant Technologies Acquires Delhi-based Quick Call Navigant Technologies has acquired New Delhi-based specialized outsourcing firm Quick Call for an undisclosed amount, according to a statement. This is Navigant Technologies’ first acquisition since its inception 2003. Established in 2012 by Neeraj Tyagi, Quick Call is a startup that handles business research, development campaigns and customer support for niche companies across different sectors.
