Pure Storage cut to hold at Stifel amid run-up in shares Sundry Photography/iStock Editorial via Getty Images Pure Storage (NYSE: PSTG ) was downgraded to Hold from Buy at investment firm Stifel after a run-up in shares since the end of November. Since November 30, Pure Storage shares have gained 28.2%, well above the 8.4% and 10% gains for the S&P 500 and Nasdaq, respectively, despite guiding below Wall Street estimates for the coming quarter, analyst Matthew Sheerin pointed out. The company's management has done a "credible job" of articulating its mix shift and long-term opportunities in artificial intelligence and the cloud via hyperscalers, though much of the upside is priced in, Sheerin added. Pure Storage shares were lower in premarket trading on Wednesday. Analysts are largely bullish on Pure Storage ( PSTG ). It has a BUY rating from Seeking Alpha authors , while Wall Street analysts rate it a STRONG BUY . Conversely, Seeking Alpha's quant system, which consistently beats the market, rates PSTG a HOLD .
