Pure Hydrogen Corporation Unveils Revolutionary Hydrogen Fuel Cell Prime Mover

May 19, 2023

Pure Hydrogen Corporation Unveils Revolutionary Hydrogen Fuel Cell Prime Mover Pure Hydrogen Corporation Unveils Revolutionary Hydrogen Fuel Cell Prime Mover Pure Hydrogen Corporation has made a significant breakthrough in hydrogen-fueled transportation with the launch of its groundbreaking Hydrogen Fuel Cell Prime Mover, the ‘Taurus.’ As hydrogen gains prominence in Australia, supported by a $2 billion funding allocation in the Federal Budget, the Pure Hydrogen prime mover represents a crucial step toward a cleaner energy future. The Taurus truck holds immense potential in providing clean energy solutions for long-distance hauling, addressing the limitations of large electric vehicles in terms of size, weight, and driving range. With a 220kW 6 x 4 configuration, the Taurus can haul loads of up to 70 tonnes and cover distances of up to 400 km on a single charge. PepsiCo has taken a keen interest in the Taurus and is currently conducting trials under an initial Term Sheet agreement. If the results prove satisfactory, the agreement allows for the potential acquisition of additional Pure Hydrogen vehicles by PepsiCo until 2025. Moreover, Pure Hydrogen is engaged in discussions with other potential customers in the heavy vehicle industry, recognizing hydrogen as the key to decarbonizing this sector. Pure Hydrogen’s efforts extend beyond heavy vehicles, with the company also developing hydrogen-powered prototypes for waste collection trucks, concrete trucks, refrigeration trucks, generators, delivery trucks, and buses. Notably, a Hydrogen Powered Garbage Truck, a first in Australia, is scheduled for trials by JJ Waste and Recycling. On an international scale, Pure Hydrogen holds a 24% stake in H2X Global, a hydrogen vehicle company undergoing final testing and approvals for a 4WD hydrogen fuel cell-powered utility vehicle in the European market. The company is also involved in hydrogen production methods, focusing on the Emerald and Turquoise projects. The Emerald Hydrogen plant in Moreton Bay, Queensland, is set to commence operations in early 2024, while a trial program for the Turquoise Hydrogen prototype is expected to begin in the fourth quarter. Hydrogen has emerged as a significant topic within the government, evident in the allocation of funding support through the Hydrogen Headstart program in the recent Federal Budget. The program aims to position Australia as a global leader in green hydrogen production, with the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) playing a crucial role in developing a $2 billion revenue support program. The potential of hydrogen was emphasized at the APPEA Conference, where it was highlighted as an integral component in the decarbonization of the global economy. Matthew Walden, a partner at Deloitte, stated that low-emission hydrogen can complement direct electrification and other low-emission technologies, serving as a solution for reducing emissions. Samantha McCulloch, CEO of APPEA, emphasized the role of hydrogen, alongside natural gas, in achieving a net-zero target and ensuring a cleaner energy future. As Pure Hydrogen Corporation pushes the boundaries of hydrogen-fueled transportation, the stage is set for a transformative shift toward clean energy in the transportation sector and beyond.
