No Need to Print Tickets, Boarding at Gambir Station Can be by Face Scanning

May 18, 2023

May 17, 2023 Suara.com – PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Daop 1 Jakarta is currently implementing face scanning technology or Face Recognition for boarding at Gambir Station. This technology can be utilized by service users starting Wednesday 17 May 2023. Currently, there are 4 Boarding Gates with Face Recognition technology in the south hall area of Gambir Station. Head of Public Relations of KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Eva Chairunisa said, Face Recognition Boarding Gate is a boarding service facility in the ticket inspection area which is equipped with a camera that functions to identify and validate a person’s identity through facial scanning whose data has been integrated with existing passenger train ticket data. on the KAI boarding system. Customers boarding through the Face Recognition Gate no longer need to show their KTP or print proof of tickets. “To be able to enjoy this facility, customers only need to register once or registration is valid forever, including when they are at other stations that already have Face Recognition Boarding Gate facilities,” said Eva as quoted, Thursday (18/5/2023). At Gambir Station the registration process can be done at the Check In Counter (CIC) machine or through a special service officer who is in the south hall area. The registration process cannot be represented, it is enough to bring the e-KTP. The registration process can be carried out immediately by pasting the e-KTP on the Reader device and then placing the right or left index finger on the scanner on the e-KTP reader. If you have already registered, the customer no longer needs to print a boarding pass. Customers can go directly to the Face Recognition Boarding Gate if the boarding time is available. Point your face at the scanner and if the ticket data, identity and other requirements are correct, the gate will automatically open. The process of scanning the customer’s face and the process of verifying all data stored in the KAI system is very fast, so this will greatly facilitate customers and expedite the queue during the boarding process. Apart from Gambir Station, Face Recognition Boarding Gates have now been installed at Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya Gubeng, Malang and Solo Balapan Stations. Therefore, train customers who have used similar services at these stations do not need to register again at Gambier Station. For customers who cannot register because they do not have an e-KTP, such as a child customer or whose e-KTP is in a damaged condition, there is no need to worry. The registration process can also be carried out through the available service officers. Apart from that, KAI also still provides manual boarding services at stations. Gambir. “It is hoped that the implementation of the Face Recognition Boarding Gate will make it easier for customers to travel because the boarding process will be much faster, more practical and does not require manual file verification, a number of these things will certainly make customers more comfortable in enjoying the whole process of traveling by train,” concluded Eva.
