DAS Acquisition of St. Louis acquires Providence Home Lending

By Paul Gores of the Journal Sentinel Dec. 21, 2015 4:22 p.m. DAS Acquisition Co. said Monday it has acquired Providence Home Lending, entering the Wisconsin residential real estate lending market for the first time. Financial terms of the transaction weren't disclosed. Providence Home Lending, founded in 1998 by James Mercado, operates offices in Brookfield, Madison, Mukwonago and Watertown. The firm with will retain the Providence marketing name. DAS is based in St. Louis, where it operates as USA Mortgage. Wisconsin becomes the15th state where DAS is licensed. "With their strong network of business referral sources in dynamic markets such as Madison and the northern suburbs of Milwaukee, we believe James and his team have tremendous potential for sustained growth," Doug Schukar, president and chief executive officer of DAS, said in a statement. "The standing DAS enjoys in the international financial marketplace and the loan processing infrastructure that it adds to the mix are competitive pluses that will help Providence reach the next level.
