Tris DeRoma The event will be held with his guests from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. at Project Y, 150 Central Park Square celebrating. Storkan is also using the celebration to let people know about a new piece of high tech he’s added to his practice, the FX 635 laser from Erchonia. The equipment is in practice at his office, Storkan Chiropractic, at 2610 Trinity Drive, No. 22. The laser is used to treat back pain and foot pain, especially plantar fasciitis, according to Storkan. “Erchonia is the best laser company in the country and they have 16 out of the 17 Federal Drug Administration studies approved,” Storkan said of his new machine. Storkan’s practice revolves around a technique called Total Body Modification that he says has been around with much success for a long time. Storkan said the first few years of his practice was about muscle-skeletal techniques, until a patient told him about Total Body Modification “I had a patient that asked me to look into this new technique called Total Body Modification, which dealt a lot with allergies and other aspects of the body’s metabolic problems,” Storkan said. He said he got such phenomenal results from learning Total Body Modification, it’s been a mainstay of his practice ever since. “I work with all those aspects in my practice, and try to figure out why the human body has to use so much extra energy to deal with these triggers that are draining its energy,” Storkan said. “I believe the human body is a miracle in of itself and it can heal anything when it’s given the opportunity. ” He plans to use his new laser to help people with all types of muscle ailments. “We use it for neck pain, for shoulder pain, for anywhere where there is joint pain,” Storkan said. “It’s a real important addition and I think it’s going to be a really nice adjutant to my practice. It’s going to help a lot of people.” Storkan moved to Los Alamos with his then wife in 1984 so their kids could study at the Montessori School in the Quemazon section of town. Storkan said he also liked the sunshine and the mountains. Storkan graduated from the Logan Chiropractic School in St. Louis, Missouri. He decided to try his luck in Santa Fe and then Los Alamos, after visiting his fellow classmates who moved out to Santa Fe. As for his patients in Los Alamos, Storkan said he couldn’t ask for a better clientele. “I found people up here more responsible,” Storkan said.
