Previstar Announces the Launch of “CPS-Mobile” for Incident and Resource Management Manage events, check resource inventory and make requests with a click of a button on cell phone March 05, 2013 08:00 AM Eastern Standard Time ALEXANDRIA, Va.--( BUSINESS WIRE )--Emergency managers protect communities by building, sustaining, and improving capabilities to mitigate against, prepare for, respond to, and recover from all hazards incidents and events. Over the years, tools have been developed to support the emergency manager’s mission including software for managing the incident and resource management lifecycle. A challenge of using software, particularly during unplanned incidents, is accessibility “from the field” if no computer is available. Previstar’s new CPS-Mobile is designed to minimize this challenge. CPS-Mobile is a streamlined version of Previstar’s Continual Preparedness System (CPS) functionality and is accessible on any Smartphone or mobile device. “More and more people depend on their mobile devices for daily activities,” said Himadri Banerjee, Previstar’s CTO and lead developer of CPS-Mobile. “CPS-Mobile is designed to take advantage of this new platform. Emergency managers can receive resource requests at anytime from first responders. With CPS-Mobile they can use their phones to quickly locate the closest available resources and immediately make a resource request or call the resource owner with a simple touch of a button. They can also manage tasks, events, send messages and capture images and video from the field to forward to the EOC.” CPS-Mobile comes standard with any Previstar CPS INCIDENT Manager or RESOURCE Manager deployment. There is no additional cost to the customer. “We believe that mobile capabilities are a critical piece in the evolution of emergency management and are proud to offer this to our customers,” said Jim Fetters, Previstar’s President and COO. About Previstar Headquartered in Alexandria, VA, Previstar provides comprehensive solutions to emergency preparedness personnel that dislike using multiple unconnected systems to manage the different phases of the emergency management lifecycle. Previstar’s flagship product, the Continual Preparedness System (CPS), is a suite of web-based software modules for planning, response, and resource management in accordance to Federal standards such as the NIMS and CPG-101. Unlike other systems that support pieces of the emergency management lifecycle, CPS modules work together in a single integrated platform. Modules include the CEMPlanner, INCIDENT Manager, RESOURCE Manager, SOP Creator, and GIS. They are available together or separately. For more information visit www.previstar.com .
