Point of Grace kicked off its Christmas tour on Dec. 1, and First Baptist Church of North Augusta will be one of their stops. According to the groups website, the trio is celebrating its 20th year. They also recently released their 12th record, A Thousand Little Things. Shelley Breen, Denise Jones and Leigh Cappillino make up the group
They have seven No. 1 songs, 13 Dove awards, two Grammy nominations and their career album sales exceed 7 million with multiple Platinum and Gold certifications. The website also says the group is one of the top 10 best-selling artists in the history of the Contemporary Christian Music genre. The concert at First Baptist Church will be Sunday at 7 p.m. Admission will be free, though a love offering will be available. The First Baptist worship choir will also perform with the group. They incorporate beautiful harmonies and encouraging lyrics into all their music, Marie Brooks, worship ministry assistant at the church, said. They celebrated Easter here at FBCNA this year, and we are thrilled to celebrate another huge holiday with them. The choir is excited to have the opportunity to sing with these talented and sweet ladies.
Brooks said the churchs Festival of Christmas has taken many forms over the years, ranging from full musical and theatrical dramas to contemplative times of worship to guest artists coming in. Festival is our churchs gift to the community, and a way to share the gospel during this important time of the year, she said. So we have never charged the public to attend. There will be an opportunity for a love offering, so people can give to help offset the cost if they wish.
Doors for the concert will open at 6 p.m., and seating is first come, first served. Additional parking will be available Grace United Methodist Church. Entrances will be at Georgia Ave. and the West Ave. parking lot. For additional information, contact Brooks at 803-279-6370 or email@example.com.
