Phishing activities are consistently increasing all over the world, as the volume of these threats in the 2nd quarter of 2021 has crossed the same quarter of last year by 22 Percent. Intelligence company PhishLabs has published data that cryptocurrency is discovering itself in the vision of attackers as the exchanges saw a 10 times increase in this quarter as compared to the prior quarter of 2021, and this was heftily targeted on social media platforms. Due to the upsurge in the number of attacks, the crypto sector is ranking on 3rd number in phishing targeted industries all over the world. This means that there are only two industries that have a greater number of outbreaks rations in the 2nd quarter of this year such as financial services with an upsurge of 561.8% and broadcast media has a 112.5% growth in a number of outbreaks as per the data. Markedly, a blend of brand, supervisory, and employee caricature attacks are responsible for 54.7% of whole social media attacks in the area of crypto.
