Landmark Software and Services, a division of Halliburton Co. (NYSE: HAL), has acquired Petris Technology , a Houston-based supplier of data management and integration solutions to the energy industry. The buy includes Petris’ entire product line, which is designed to drive collaboration and efficiency by making highly technical data readily accessible to exploration and production business customers. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. By capturing all of the scientific data within one environment, Houston-based Halliburton can help producers make safer, faster and more accurate decisions about their operations, Gene Minnich , Landmark Software and Services vice president, said in a statement. Petris was founded in 1994 as a well log digitizing company with imaging software from NASA . Four years later, the company got into the pipeline analysis business when it acquired SkyVision. Landmark has been in business for more than 25 years and has filed upward of 350 patents since 2001. In June, the company acquired Object Reservoir Inc ., which is also based in Houston.
