PeerMe
About PeerMe
PeerMe is a telecommunications group that has purposely decided not to advertise, although they do have businesses that subscribe to them. They would rather keep things on a friend-to friend status, to cut down on unscrupulous business telemarketers, and, on the personal front, cyber bullies. Technologically, once they allow a member to sign up, said member has the choice of downloading or just use it-from its own site-on their own favorite search engine. I don't know how all this works, exactly, but it must be good to work without downloading, and filling up one's hard drive. Sounds like it's not profit driven, which is good for their clients, whom they urge to report all scammers, telemarketers, and cyber bullies. If everyone listens, it may just be a pleasant place to chat-or do business. It does seem to have something for everyone who respects its vision. It has been operating since 2004, so it's not a fly-by-night operation. I know, everyone's out for themselves, to some pointy, but these people seem to try to adhere to their original vision.
