Brooker Pest Control's owner Brian Aurilio has more than two decades of experience in the pest control industry. His pest control career began in 1990 as a technician. According to Turner Pest Control President Bill Talon, "Brian knows this business from the ground up and understands what it takes to provide quality service and value to customers. Brooker Pest Control's dedication to its customers' satisfaction is on par with Turner's, and I'm confident that our united team can continue to grow the business without compromising on quality." Aurilio noted that joining Turner Pest Control “is an exceptional opportunity to provide an even greater number of services to the customers in Gainesville who have helped our company become a leader in the area. We look forward to delivering the latest technologies to customers and new opportunities to the members of our team."   Established in 1976, Peachtree Pest Control, Suwanee, Ga., is led by company president Corey Arnold and provides pest control, termite control, and wildlife control services to homes and businesses. (Editor's note: Earlier this year, a separate Peachtree Pest Control operation, led by Corey Arnold's cousin, Jimmy Arnold, was sold to Certus). "Peachtree Pest Control and Turner Pest Control have the same foundations, beginning as family-owned companies," says Talon. "Both companies have experienced tremendous growth over the years — 45 years for Peachtree and 50 years for Turner — thanks in no small part to our continued focus on our family of employees and customers. We're honored to join with a company that shares our unwavering commitment to service and quality. "      According to Arnold, the two companies also share similar values. "Both Peachtree and Turner are dedicated to the well-being of everyone in the communities we serve, whether through increasing environmental protection via Integrated Pest Management principles, or actively supporting local causes that help our neighbors thrive. Partnering with an industry leader such as Turner gives us unprecedented opportunities to make our communities safer, provide the most innovative pest control solutions available, and offer even more rewarding careers to our team members."     Those interested in presenting a paper or poster at the upcoming 10th International Conference on Urban Pests (ICUP) are invited to do so now via the ICUP website at . The total U.S. pest index increased 14.9 percent year-over-year in August, according to a report released by PCO M&A Specialists and William Blair . This marks an acceleration from July 2021, which was up 10 percent year-over-year. On a sequential basis, the index increased 2.2 percent from July 2021. “Pest control continues to be a shining star in the overall economy and appears to be poised for even more growth as the country eventually moves forward from COVID,” said Dan Gordon, managing member of PCO M&A Specialists and PCO Bookkeepers. The acceleration in August was primarily driven by a pickup across all four subindices, according to William Blair Equity Researcher Tim Mulrooney. The residential pest index increased 16.2 percent year-over-year and increased 2.5 percent on a sequential basis. The commercial pest index increased 17.1 percent year-over-year and 3.5 percent on a sequential basis. The wood destroying (termite) index increased 10.3 percent year-over-year and decreased 1.2 percent on a sequential basis. The bed bug Index increased 8 percent year-over-year and increased 3.1 percent on a sequential basis. “The acceleration in the August residential pest index came as a surprise, given the slowdown observed in recent months from the strong results earlier this spring,” Mulrooney said. “The two-year compound annual growth rate for the residential pest index was 11 percent in August, in line with the long-term historical average trend of 11 percent growth.” View the full August report and the archive of past reports here .
