Share United Kingdom-based travel technology firm Snowfall isacquiring software platform Psngr1 , with plans to merge the technology withits own and boost its presence in North America, Snowfall CEO Stefan Cars tellsBTN. The acquisition, first reported by The Company Dime, is inthe late stages, with an official announcement coming soon, Cars says. Snowfallhas been building up its own online booking product and launched the Junction travel platform in late 2021. More recently, Psngr1 had run into a fundingshortfall that led it to notify travel management company partners thatit was pausing activity. Cars says Snowfall plans to retain most of the Psngr1 teamas the company works to “leverage the joint platforms.” Psngr1 has been “very good on focusing on [graphical userinterface] and user experience for corporate buyers, and that’s something thatwill leapfrog our own development,” Cars says. He also praises its TripBoardsfunctionality that lets groups collaborate and track costs of itineraries. Snowfall, meanwhile, will be able to bring more content intothe tool along with its own features focusing on passenger experience, Cars says.Snowfall has connected directly with several airports, for example, to givetravelers access to fast-track experiences. “We’ve focused a lot on the travel experience, withcompanion features during travel like automatic boarding passes and check-in,”he says. “We can put that on top of the Psngr1 tool, making the wholeend-to-end experience.” Cars says it is too early in the process to give a timelineon integration and decisions about branding are still in the works. Snowfall already has a global presence with more than 10global offices, including in the United States. The Psngr1 acquisition “obviouslydoes deepen our U.S. focus a bit” as it will in Canada, with much of Psngr1’steam based in Montreal, he says.
