French digital entertainment group Webedia has acquired YouTube multi-channel network (MCN) Mixicom in its home country and a 50 percent stake in Brazil's Paramaker, Mixicom co-founder Thierry Boyer told Le Figaro. Mixicom's stable includes French YouTube stars Cyprien, Squeezie, Norman and Natoo. The company's channels have over 30 million subscribers and 6 billion video views. Mixicom has EUR 17 million of revenue from publishing magazines for retailers, entertainment websites (jeuxactu.com, jeuxvideo.com, Allocine, filmactu.com) and its YouTube MCN. The company will relocate to Webedia's headquarters in Levallois, where it will open studios for YouTubers. Paramaker, which operates 5,000 YouTube channels, was founded by Felipe Neto, who has 4.4 million followers in his own right. The amateur network receives around 550 million views a month, but has yet to monetise. Free Headlines in your E-mail
