Workers at the plant returned it to full power after successfully completing a planned maintenance outage to repair a component that controls turbine speed, said Suzanne D'Ambrosio, a spokeswoman for Exelon Generation, the plant's owner. The plant was initially taken offline last week so the work could be performed, but experienced two glitches as workers tried to repower it. The plant was shut down once automatically and once manually in separate incidents. Yesterday, the federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission said a biennial run-through of emergency protocols at the plant would be postponed , likely until March, due to the ongoing federal government shutdown.
