Sign Up × Helen George looks set for 'heartache' on Call The Midwife, as it's being reported that her on-screen husband Olly Rix has left the much loved drama, just months after their characters finally got married. With Helen having taken some time off the long-running BBC show to have her youngest child, viewers were beside themselves with excitement last year to her popular alias, Trixie Franklin, make a return to Poplar, after being 'written out' as Trixie went to visit relatives overseas. Call The Midwife fans had longed for Trixie to find happiness for years, so were delighted when Olly's character, Matthew, popped the question last series; before, after a few stumbling blocks on the way to the altar, they got married in the final episode. However, it looks like the couple might not have much wedded bliss on the horizon, as sources are claiming Olly has already left the show, much to the shock of his co-stars. An insider commented: The news of Olly's departure has left the cast and crew stunned and upset. They all thought he was a mainstay on the series after his prominent wedding scenes to Helen last season." BBC representatives are yet to respond to the speculation, which is sure to unsettle the millions of viewers who have followed Trixie and Matthew's romance on screen.
