Smith in recognition of his significant contributions to the field over a lifetime of work. 2019 Committee Chair, Martin Rylance of BP Exploration, presented the honor, noting Dr. Smith's 40-year professional career where, among many achievements, he co-developed the framework for fracturing pressure analysis, which revolutionized fracturing technology. Mike is co-author of the acclaimed book Hydraulic Fracturing and recipient of the SPE Lester C. Uren Award for his contributions to hydraulic fracturing technology.
