Addionics named 2022 Bloomberg New Energy Finance Pioneer Annual BNEF Pioneer Program awards the 12 most impactful and original technology innovations for advancing the low-carbon economy. The Addionics battery will halve charging time and increase range. Photo courtesy of Addionics Battery technology company Addionics of Tel Aviv and London was selected as a 2022 Pioneer by Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) for its technology’s potential to accelerate global decarbonization and halt climate change. Addionics is one of 12 BNEF Pioneers chosen from about 270 international candidates. Winners were judged by a panel of cross-industry experts based on technological innovation, the capability to transform and scale, and company growth. As described in this ISRAEL21c article , while most efforts to improve batteries have focused on chemistry, Addionics focuses on physics. Its Smart 3D Electrode solution is compatible with existing battery manufacturing facilities and improves performance in batteries with any kind of chemistry, increasing energy density and power, enhancing safety and extending lifetime – all without increasing cost. “This prestigious recognition from Bloomberg New Energy Finance for our tireless work to push the boundaries of battery innovation is both humbling and momentous, as the program has a rich history of identifying what [will] become the world’s most successful cleantech companies,” said Moshiel Biton, CEO and cofounder of Addionics. Addionics closed a $27 million Series A funding round in January 2022, bringing the company’s total funding to $40 million. The funding will be used to expand the team, accelerate product development, and lay the groundwork for commercialization with the support of Addionics’ partners, which include automakers and tier 1 suppliers.
