Naruto Named His Son After This Fan-Loved Character

May 15, 2022

May 15, 2022 Last year we told you about the turn that the animated series Boruto had taken following the tragic death of this character which upset the community. Today, we are interested in this new revelation which surprised the fans concerning the origin of the name of the eponymous character, Boruto. A moving tribute from Boruto’s parents Despite many adventures and sometimes dangerous fights, the original series Naruto ended on a positive note with the long-awaited marriage between Naruto and Hinata. Naturally, fans of the series soon became interested in Naruto’s son, Boruto. Indeed, most of Naruto’s friends were able to grow alongside him and celebrate his new status as the Seventh Hokage of Konoha Village, but Naruto had to part ways and mourn some of his closest friends. Masashi Kishimito, the author of the manga, informs us that one of his tragic deaths particularly affected Naruto to the point that he paid tribute to him by naming his son Boruto. It is true that Naruto is not an anime necessarily known for the number of main characters who died during the story, but it is nonetheless true that the series begins with the death of Naruto’s parents, Minato and Kushina. Then, follows the death of the third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, during the attack of the Chunin examination organized by Orochimaru, this death was particularly touching because, apart from the fact that he sacrificed himself to save the village, the one He was kind to Naruto and made sure he was always safe. We can also mention other notable deaths such as Asuma, the leader of team 10, Sasuke’s brother, Itachi, but also Naruto’s mentor, Jiraiya. Nevertheless, it seems that another death even more touching for Naruto would have given him the idea to call his son Boruto: it is Neji Hyuga who sacrificed himself to save Naruto and Hinata during the 4th Great Ninja War. Indeed, it is Masashi Kishimoto himself, author of the series, who reveals this information during an interview shared with the Japanese website WalkerPlus. Naruto would have actually paid homage to his comrade Neji by calling his son Boruto, a detail that does not seem obvious since there is not really a link between the names. However, it is only when one is interested in Japanese etymology that one quickly understands this subtlety: the name Neji would be translated by “Vis” while the name Boruto can be translated by “Bolt”. Also, if we push the translation a little further, Boulon in English is Bolt, and this translation also echoes Boruto’s speed, while resembling Naruto enough that it’s obvious that the two protagonists belong to the same family. We can also note that Neji’s sacrifice was a catalyst for the relationship between Naruto and Hinata who had a lot of esteem and respect for him. Fans of the show would prefer Jiraiya’s death to mean more to Naruto, but Neji’s sacrifice is definitely a key part of the story as he had a condescending attitude towards Naruto and Hinata, he took them from high and even felt resentment towards Hinata at the beginning of the manga. Despite this, he ends up sacrificing himself to save the two lovers, which shows major character development. Thus, we can understand why Neji holds a prominent place in Naruto’s future and the impact he will have had on him throughout his life, since the Chunin examination during which they met. confronted and exchanged their contradictory vision of the life of a shinobi. Despite the community expressing their displeasure with the continuation of the series Borutoportraying the protagonist as a pale copy of his father, it is nevertheless essential to point out that the creation of his name has been the subject of much thought. Despite the fact that Naruto has gone through a lot of hardships in his life as a Konoha ninja, we can now say that the death that has marked him the most is undoubtedly that of Neji Hyuga.. We hope you enjoyed this article and do not hesitate to tell us about the death of the Naruto series that will have marked you the most and the one that you think deserves to be the most important in the eyes of Naruto. And if you are up to date on the latest chapters of Borutohere is an article that might interest you.
