"The award of the Afghanistan Defense University project to MVL is particularly rewarding in that it aligns our company with the caliber of this flagship project, as well as that of the national importance it upholds," said MVL Group managing director Abie Musa. Once completed, the Defense University will boast multiple academies for the Afghan National Army including the National Military Academy, the ANA Officers' Academy, a Non Commissioned Officer Academy, and a Joint Services Academy. The contract also requires the Construction of a Legal Branch School, a Cultural Affairs School, a Language School with Library, and the recreation and life support facilities necessary to house the Campus's military personnel. The wellness and life support areas include but are not limited to dining facilities, a fitness center, and both male and female battalion support barracks. " Construction activities will include completion of Concrete Masonry Facilities with full electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, as well as complete interior fit-out of the facilities for their occupation by the Afghan Forces. Additionally, MVL will complete the site security system with guard towers and entry control points, telecommunication infrastructure, internal roads system, storm water collection and irrigation systems, power and water distribution systems, and the underground utilities necessary to operate the University.
