“Tennessee Smart Mobility Expo” kicks off this afternoon in Nashville on August 03 rd, 2022 At 1 p.m. CDT today, the inaugural “Tennessee Smart Mobility Expo” kicks off at the Music City Center in Downtown Nashville. The three-day event has an agenda stacked with conversations and presentations on the latest topics and trends in transportation solutions being developed and deployed across Tennessee. Highlights of the expo on Thursday include an opening keynote by Chris Reed, Senior Vice President of Research and Development at Nissan Americas, followed by presentations from Drew Starke, Director of Business Development for Blink Charging, and Jake Nelson, Director of Traffic Safety, Advocacy and Research for AAA. The day will end with a presentation on the pursuit of smart mobility solutions by Dan Levy, Executive Director of Product in Mobility Solutions at Bridgestone Americas. Friday’s highlights include: A keynote presentation by Mark Knellinger, Transportation Solutions Architect at Cisco; A fireside chat to set a bold vision for transportation research in Tennessee with Deputy Governor and Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) Commissioner Butch Eley and University of Tennessee System president Randy Boyd; A presentation on wireless power transfer by Thomas Stout, inductive pavement lead for HDR, and P.T. Young, Advanced Vehicle Systems Technical Staff at Oak Ridge National Laboratory; A panel of innovators from FedEx discussing the future of smart logistics; and A roundtable discussion led by Launch Tennessee on a statewide automotive initiative coined a “Roadmap for Tennessee.” Outside of sessions, attendees can expect a fully operational indoor test track where they can get behind the wheel of a Volkswagen ID.4 fresh off the assembly line in Chattanooga or ride in the all-new Nissan ARIYA. The exhibit hall will also be filled with high-tech demos of some of the latest transportation technologies and solutions in Tennessee. Tickets for the expo are still available for purchase on Eventbrite . Saturday finds the Expo opening its doors to the public and taking over a small portion of downtown for a “Ride + Drive hosted by TVA” where anyone can take an electric vehicle for a spin. The exhibit hall of the Expo will be open to the public as well for all to get a sneak peek of what’s to come before it hits Tennessee roadways.
