Mubaloo talks Bristol, their journey and mobile app development by Startacus Admin In June we spent a whole month celebrating the startup culture of Bristol , showcasing the people, places, startups and events which make it one of the country's most exciting self starter cities. We enjoyed it so much, that we have decided to return to have a chat with a company that grew out of the city to become one of its most successful technology exports. Mubaloo (asside from having a great name) is the UK’s leading enterprise and consumer mobile app development company, they are a 'been there, done that' sort of lot, so we thought it a good time to pick their brains about Bristol's tech scene, their journey and the future of mobile app development. Hi there Mubaloo, from what we have been hearing over the course of our Bristol startup month, the city has something of a burgeoning tech scene- do you think that Bristol startups will lead the way for the UK's tech industry? With the talent and commitment of Bristol tech start-ups, we are already seeing Bristol being recognised as a hub for digital innovation. We are confident Bristol should already pride itself in producing some of the best tech talent in the country and some of the most innovative solutions available. You guys have 4 offices in London, New York, Dusseldorf and Bristol ... from that list 'Bristol' seems to stand out in our minds. Can you explain to us what Mubaloo's connection is to Bristol and why you operate there? Our main office is Bristol. It is where the main team is based. Bristol is a hot bed of talent, with UWE and the University of Bristol offering brilliant computer sciences courses. Mubaloo has close relationships with both universities, helping us to find promising talent and further develop their skills if they come to work with us. A few weeks ago we featured Adsy.me , a mobile WEB app that builds mobile WEB apps... we were really impressed! Do you think that there is going to be increased pressure on businesses such as mubaloo in the coming years from DIY style app builders? There have been DIY app builders ever since we came to the market. As ever, client requirements will define whether an off-the-shelf offering is fit for purpose, or if a custom built app would offer a more effective solution. The more complex or customised the requirements for app development, the more likely the need for a bespoke service, to tailor the app to the specific client requirements. Bespoke service offering does not only mean being able to customise solutions, but also provide the best quality offering. This is why we don’t outsource our development, but rather have a team of the best developers in the country, based in our Bristol offices. This ensures we can keep a tight reign on quality and standards - something that is important when dealing with large enterprise customers. Off the top of our heads we could name a dozen mobile app developers, but from what we can see you guys are really leading the way in terms of achievements.
