Di 13 set 2023 Italia Independent ha un nuovo proprietario. Il brand fondato da Lapo Elkann è stato infatti acquisito da Modo Group, da oltre 30 anni specialista dell’eyewear e già proprietario dei marchi Modo ed Eco. Da sinistra, Giovanni Lo Faro (Ceo International) e Alessandro Lanaro, fondatore e AD di Modo Group “Ho sempre ammirato l’incredibile successo di Italia Independent fin dagli esordi, siamo orgogliosi di prenderne in mano il futuro e di avere la possibilità di contribuire in modo significativo allo sviluppo del brand”, ha commentato Alessandro Lanaro, fondatore e AD di Modo Group. “Modo Group e Italia Independent sono da sempre accomunate dal desiderio di rappresentare una voce fuori dal coro nel settore; il nostro obiettivo è quello di ricollegare la grande community che Italia Independent ha creato negli anni sia nel settore ottico che nei consumatori finali”. Modo Group è un’azienda di occhialeria alquanto atipica nel panorama italiano, caratterizzata sin dalla sua nascita da un forte spirito cosmopolita. La società è stata infatti fondata nel 1990 a New York da Alessandro Lanaro, originario del Cadore, e ha dunque iniziato la propria attività negli Stati Uniti.
