First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times? Mark Thoburn: We are doing well – spending lots of time together and keeping fit with exercise and meditation. Tell us about you, your career, how you founded Mobio Interactive. Mark Thoburn: The company is the product of my work in design, my partners’; work in science and programming. It all started with the question, what if a doctor could prescribe an app or video game? How does Mobio Interactive innovate? Mark Thoburn: We ‘speak’ with our end-users and customers all of the time. And we are playful, asking questions and prototyping ideas a lot. How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping? Mark Thoburn: We are a digital mental health company. The pandemic has not impacted our work. In fact, it’s brought more attention to mental health and wellness. Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned? Mark Thoburn: Focus! Have the tools and discipline to make choices and to manage our emotions and biases along the way. How do you deal with stress and anxiety? Mark Thoburn: Exercise, meditation, and real-time with real people – i.e, I do not do social media. Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game? Mark Thoburn: Our competitors are larger companies that are shaping the digital therapeutics marketplace. We focus on the activities that lead to long-term success, for example, clinical trials. Painfully slow but so Ruch and rewarding in the end. Your final thoughts? Mark Thoburn: Stay cool and trust in the process. Manage your life.
