The Miami Dolphins were recently stripped of a pair of draft picks for tampering with Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton. while they were both under contract with different organizations. Brady, who turned 45 on Wednesday, will see the Dolphins soon, but he won’t face them in a game that matters little to the future Hall of Famer. According to Pro Football Talk’s Charean Williams, Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles told reporters Wednesday that Brady would not play when Tampa Bay opens the preseason against the Dolphins at home on Aug. 13. It is assumed that replacement Blaine Gabbert will start for the Buccaneers this Saturday evening. Brady is widely considered the GOAT and has seven Super Bowl championship rings before what could be his last campaign as an active player, but he does have a history of playing preseason games nonetheless. According to Williams, Brady played six snaps in Tampa Bay’s first preseason game last August, then played 18 snaps in the final warm-up game of the summer. In total, Brady completed 12 of 16 passes for 163 yards and a touchdown last preseason. Later this month, the Buccaneers will play the Tennessee Titans on August 20 and then face the Indianapolis Colts on August 27. Brady’s status for those matchups is unknown at this time. Sports Grp1

The year-round operation of the casinos could engender even greater profits dependent on an agreed-upon tax rate between the state and potential developers.

Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has been suspended by the National Football League after an investigator found the team violated the league’s anti-tampering rule by trying to lure quarterback Tom Brady and former head coach Sean Payton. The Related Cos. chairman will be suspended through Oct. 17 and won’t be allowed at the team’s facility, nor can he represent the club at any team or league event. Ross also has to pay a fine of $1.5 million and will be removed from all the league committees indefinitely. The Dolphins will also forfeit its first-round draft pick in 2023 and third-round pick in 2024. “With regards to tampering, I strongly disagree with the conclusions and the punishment,” Ross said in a statement . “However, I will accept the outcome because the most important thing is that there be no distractions for our team as we begin an exciting and winning season.”

The 82-year-old Ross has a net worth of roughly $8.4 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. The real estate mogul is active in New York’s political scene and last year said he was raising tens of millions of dollars to turn out voters for the mayoral Democratic primary. The Dolphins investigation findings come six months after former head coach Brian Flores filed a federal suit, claiming that Ross had sought to incentivize him to deliberately lose games to improve its standing in the college draft.
