Thu, 23 Jan 2020 | MBO/MBI Mentor Media Training has been acquired by lead consultant Dave Mason in an MBO. The company will now move its headquarters to Bath, ending 21 years based in Bristol. Mentor provides CPD-accredited courses covering media, crisis, presentation advice and social media simulation. It runs courses both nationwide and internationally, serving clients across the public, private and charity sectors as well as government departments. Following the management buyout, Dave Mason will become the company’s managing director. Mentor’s digital media agency as well as its video production divisions will remain in Bristol and continue trading as Mentor Digital. Following the announcement of the deal, Dave Mason said: "It’s exciting to re-locate Mentor Training to Bath – we have clients here as well as around the UK. Our radio and TV training equipment is highly portable, so our agile way of working is going to be even better for customers. "Buying the business means that we can offer some exciting new digital training products to test business continuity and organisational resilience. These include a social media simulation platform, called 'Splutter', where clients can run their own exercises for building staff confidence on customer-facing social media, or crisis exercises." Dave Mason has previously as a presenter with BBC Radio 5 and Radio 1, ITV News, and Breakfast TV station GMTV. He worked as a reporter and producer at ITV News Westcountry in Bristol, prior to joining Mentor in 2014. Share this article
