COMPANY NEWS; JOHNSON & JOHNSON TO ACQUIRE A CATHETER MAKER Published: October 18, 1994 Johnson & Johnson said yesterday that it would buy Menlo Care Inc., a maker of catheters and other intravenous products. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the transaction is subject to the approval of Menlo Care's stockholders. Menlo Care is a privately held company based in Menlo Park, Calif. Its intravenous catheters are marketed under the Streamline brand name, and all its products use a proprietary polymer, marketed under the brand name Aquavene. Johnson & Johnson, based in New Brunswick, N.J., said the acquisition would fit well with its own line of intravenous catheters.
