Reinsurance News Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has promoted James Byrnes to Head of Construction Professional, North America. Previously, Byrnes held the role of Vice President, Construction, for BHSI’s US Eastern Region. Overall, Byrnes has nearly 20 years of experience within the industry. Before he joined BHSI, he spent more than a decade on both the underwriting and claims sides of the business working for Zurich. During his time at Zurich, he worked within Environmental Claims, Construction, and Professional Liability. Prior to joining Zurich, he spent six years working as an Attorney at Mendes & Mount, LLP. In his new role, Byrnes will continue to based in New York.
