India Dealbook: Native Special, Fitnapp raise funds; Xeler8, MediaForge get acquired

Subscribe to our newsletter Ishita Russell January 19, 2017: &nbsp Foodtech startup Native Special and fitness platform Fitnapp have raised funds, while ZDream Ventures has acquired database provider Xeler8, and iTransparity has bought over digital marketing firm MediaForge. has raised investment of an undisclosed amount from Indian Angel Network and Madurai based Native Angels Network . Angel investor Nagaraja Prakasam has led this round of funding on IAN’s behalf and K.Premnath will join the board to provide strategic mentorship to the startup which retails authentic traditional snacks & sweets through their online portal across India. The Tamil Nadu-based firm plans to use the raised funds for further upgradation of its laboratory facilities and expansion to newer markets. It also plans to introduce FSSAI certifications for vendors and setting up of an exclusive warehouse in Chennai to enable a hassle free delivery model. The portal nativespecial.com claims to have over 42 products with 20 vendors on board and more than 7500 registered users on portal. Fitness app Fitnapp raises funds from SD Group Fitness startup  Fitnapp  has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Noida-based real estate firm SD Group . Under the terms of the deal SD Group’s Sanjay K Baliase will join Fitnapp as a Director. Founded in 2015, Fitnapp is a mobile marketplace that enables users to discover and purchase fitness services from the gym and fitness centers around them. It also provides platform for fitness products like supplements, equipments and gadgets. The Delhi-based startup plans to use the funds raised used for online expansion, increasing the number of associations, partners and marketing. It also plans to infuse funds into technology and roll out new highly personalized fitness management tools for users. ZDream Ventures acquires database provider Xeler8 Chinese accelerator and venture fund  ZDream Ventures  acquired Delhi-Austin based startups database provider  Xeler8 Inc . for an undisclosed amount. The 12-member team of Xeler8 will be absorbed into Beijing and Gurgaon-baased ZDream Ventures. Founded in 2015, Xeler8 offers a database of Indian startups to venture capital and private equity firms about funding, founder details and other data across  covering 47 industries. “We have plans on launching a tech media platform that will be backed by the Xeler8 database and the data will be open to all, in order to fuel up Indian start-up ecosystem,” said Jason Wang, Founder and CEO of ZDream Ventures. ZDream Ventures is a Y Combinator like fund plus accelerator based in Gurgaon,  with a focus on technology, media and telecommunications industry. It’s earlier investments include  Milkbasket , a subscription based e-grocery startup and iamwire, a digital media platform. iTransparity acquires digital marketing firm MediaForge Mumbai based digital marketing firm  iTransparity  has acquired Bengaluru-based CRM and integrated digital marketing firm MediaForge Business Solutions Pvt. Ltd , which offers online marketing web application named ReachAll. While the financial details of the deal were not disclosed, the move will help iTransparity to strengthen its foothold and expand its operations nationally, according to a statement. ReachAll will retain its brand identity and will be an arm of iTransparity. It will continue to manage its existing clients and seek to capture more clients. “The plan is to expand iTransparity globally and increase its presence across geographies. iTransparity has always aspired to be a market leading digital firm and this deal will exponentially accelerate our ability to realize that ambition by giving us access to newer geographies across India,” said  iTransparity co-founder Ishan Doshi “ReachAll’s excellent suite of brands & top talent, together with iTransparity’s end to end tech & digital service offerings & ventures will be the best combination. We look forward to acquiring digital agencies to fuel our growth in India as well as to enter International markets like Singapore, Middle East, Australia & the USA,” he added.
