About Mayim

Mayim's Sensorweb gives users the tools to monitor crops and automatically control irrigation based on real time data from wireless sensors in the field. Using Sensorweb you can view the current conditions of crops, control irrigation settings, configure alerts, and view prior data from anywhere over the internet. Irrigation control is done using plant models as well as other growing tools to evaluate if individual solenoids should be activated. Sensorweb is also an important tool for monitoring green roofs and measuring how much storm-water is captured.

Once “Jeopardy!” brought in former champ Ken Jennings as their host, they also added “The Big Bang Theory” star Mayim Bialik after guesting on season 37. Since the debut of both, they have received backlash from fans of the game show, who have been very outspoken on social media. So much so that the show’s executive producer, Michael Davies, weighed in on the critics. ‘DANGER!’ FANS FURY AFTER MAYIM BIALIK’S SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings Host ‘Jeopardy!’ (Eric McCandless/ABC via Getty Images | Weiss Eubanks/NBCUniversal/NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images) “This show is so hard to host,” Davies said during an interview with Vulture. “Alex has made it his own… I read everything, and look, the strongest thing we have is the passion of our fans. I wish a lot of our fans were more patient to understand that we are dealing with two hosts . “ He continued to break down what makes Bialik and Jennings qualified to take over. “Mayim is a very experienced actress. Ken is a very experienced ‘Jeopardy!’ player. They’re both early in their hosting careers…I’ll do whatever I can to make this happen…” explained Davies. Alex Trebek hosted “Jeopardy!” for 37 seasons. Davies noted that he takes public comments “seriously.” When asked if he felt viewers preferred one host over the other, he replied, “I couldn’t give you an absolute number.” “As for the small percentage of our audience that goes to Reddit or Twitter, there are Ken fans and there are Mayim fans. There are people who love ‘Jeopardy!’ and will watch both. We also have several fans posting that they don’t like either,” he pointed out. He said there was “no difference” between Bialik or Jennings, noting that “it’s exactly the same”. Davies said there was a fair amount of rebuilding to do in the summer of 2021 as there was an “incredible fracture at the heart of ‘Jeopardy! “with the loss of Alex Trebek.” Ken Jennings holds the record for most consecutive wins and total earnings as “Jeopardy!” competitor. (Jeopardy Productions via Getty Images) “I stand by the decision to bring Ken in and make Ken a second host with Mayim. I support them both. I go to the studio every day and try to improve both of them to host the show and make a better program environment around them. They have my full support,” he said. Compare Mayim to Competitors

Athena IR-Tech

Athena IR-Tech is a developer of monitoring technology. The company's technology continuously monitors the surface temperature of any irrigated plant canopy. It is based on non-contact infrared temperature sensing and crop water status and calculates, using a crop-specific proprietary algorithm, the optimal irrigation to maximize water use efficiency while not compromising yield or quality. It was founded in 2017 and is based in Clovelly Park, Australia.

Agrihouse Logo

Agrihouse is a company that received a STTR Phase I grant for a project entitled: Precision Plant Irrigation Control Utilizing Leaf Thickness Sensor Technology. Their research project will develop an innovative method that enables reliable feedback for plant irrigation control by direct detection of impending water deficit stress (WDS) in plants. This technology indicates water deficit stress of living plants by measuring the thickness of leaves, which decreases dramatically at the onset of leaf dehydration. The proposed method overcomes the obstacle of traditional methods for determining the thickness of living plant leaves, measuring leaf thickness non-destructively, gently, reliably, conveniently, with high resolution, and in real-time. This novel real-time leaf sensor technology is non-destructive to the plants and can be used on a wide number of species. The proposed leaf sensor can easily be miniaturized and automated without hindering plant cycles. It combines concepts of engineering and plant physiology while employing recent technological advances in electronics and information technologies. Early detection of impending water deficit stress in plants may be used as an input parameter for precision irrigation control, a strategy which has the potential to preserve enormous amounts of precious freshwater while ensuring successful plant cultivation and crop yield optimization. Such a device may find commercial applications in agricultural sectors or the greenhouse industry. The research would develop this novel method into a sensor that is applicable reliably, conveniently, and permanently under field conditions. This research implements this novel real-time leaf sensor-technology into an automated irrigation system as a proof-of-concept demonstration, and evaluates its performance in terms of reliable plant cultivation and its potential for water conservation under realistic farming conditions.

SupPlant develops a sensor-based system. It autonomously waters crops according to gathered data while helping optimize water consumption and alert farmers of the state of crops, soil, air, and irrigation. The company products include SNS, a sensor-based irrigation system; SNSpro; and plat, a sensorless irrigation system. SupPlant was founded in 2012 and is based in Afula, Israel.

Evja Logo

Evja supports growers in optimizing the management and monitoring of irrigation, nutrition, and protection of their crops through the use of OPI. The company offers services such as data analysis, support, training, and technical support. The company was founded in 2015 and is based in Naples, Italy.

BrioAgro Logo

BrioAgro is a smart irrigation company for farmers. The company offers a mobile intelligence system that provides real-time information on the main variables that can be intervened in to improve crops and integrate them with agricultural irrigation systems. BrioAgro was founded in 2015 and is based in Tudela, Spain.

Lumo offers a smart irrigation system that helps growers save water, improve crop quality and reduce costs. Its technology uses smart valves with built-in sensors to provide automation, precision, and advanced reporting that closes the loop between planned versus actual water consumption. It was founded in 2021 and is based in Santa Rosa, California.
