Barentz acquires Metachem in Brazil for Performance Materials Solutions April 19, 2023 Barentz International, a leading global life science and performance materials ingredients distributor has, in close collaboration with its joint venture partner, Tovani Benzaquen, expanded its activities in South America. The company proudly announces the acquisition of Metachem Industrial e Comercial Ltda and its associate Chemtra Comercial Importação e Exportação Ltda., considered one of the main Brazilian dis-tributors of supplies and solutions for the chemical segment. Metachem Industrial e Comercial Ltda, headquartered in the city of São Paulo – SP, Brazil, leads a Brazilian group that distributes raw materials and ingredients in South America that is strongly active in the Industrial Materials, Paints, and Adhesives markets, as well as having a presence in the life science markets. Highlights • Barentz acquires Metachem Indústria e Comércio Ltda, one of the main Brazilian distributors of raw materials and supplies for the chemical industry. • Metachem has been expanding the research and performance of new products and solutions, boosting business in several industrial segments. • Metachem’s expertise perfectly complements the current activities of Barentz joint venture with Tovani Benzaquen, bridging Barentz’ strong position in performance materials in North America. • This acquisition strengthens Barentz’s overall position in the South American region and further accelerated growth is expected.
