Marc Selinger, Washington, DC - Jane's Defence Industry 20 March 2020 US-based Ultra Defense Corporation (UDC) has acquired American ammunition manufacturer MAST Technology. UDC, whose activities range from delivering spare parts and training pilots to producing ammunition and providing foreign threat systems, said on 19 March that the deal will expand its product portfolio and widen its footprint in domestic and international defence markets. MAST's products include bullets for rifles and other firearms; practice rounds for grenade launchers, and fuse igniters. MAST will operate as a new division of UDC, and its former CEO and majority shareholder, Jay Bell, will serve as its general manager. MAST was founded in 1990 by Bell's father, Jim Bell.
