About ManCTL

ManCTL is a provider of advanced 3D scanning technologies. The company is the developer of Skanect, a 3D scanning desktop application that allows users to capture highly accurate, full-color 3D models of objects, people, rooms, and more using standard Windows computers and low-cost depth sensors including Microsoft Kinect, ASUS Xtion and PrimeSense Carmine.In June 2013, ManCTL was acquired by Occipital. The valuation of ManCTL was undisclosed. Other terms of the deal were not released.

Occipital Ships 3D Capture Software For Mac

Tweet Boulder- and San Francisco-based Occpital , the developer of mobile apps, has just released a new, 3D capture and scanning software package for the Mac--thanks to its recent acquisition of ManCTL. Occipital's Skanect team announced the addition of its 3D capture package for the Mac Wednesday, saying that the software runs on the Macbook Pro, Macbook Air, Mac Mini, and Mac Pro. The software is used by games, animation, and other developers to do 3D motion capture, using consumer grade, 3D cameras. The software had been in Beta. Occipital develops mobile panorama app 360 Panorama, and also was the creator of RedLaser, which it sold to eBay back in 2010.
