July 30, 2014 -- ASHBURN, Va., July 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Layered Tech Government Solutions (LTGS), a subsidiary of Layered Technologies , a leading global provider of managed hosting services , will continue providing secure and compliant hosting for SBA.gov after winning a competitive re-bid process. This new agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) extends the relationship for up to five years. SBA is a cabinet-level federal agency responsible for providing loan administration, counseling and other support services to encourage growth and development of small businesses. With more than 3 million visits per month, SBA.gov serves as the agency's public-facing online portal. LTGS has provided secure hosting for SBA.gov since 2010, working closely with the agency on network monitoring, hardware monitoring and threat mitigation. As a federal agency, SBA also relies on LTGS to meet the compliance standards outlined by the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA). FISMA compliance requires constant monitoring and adherence to more than 280 controls to ensure the security posture of government systems. Layered Tech's engineers and operations team continually generate and check SBA.gov backup logs, security incident logs, privileged user log-ins and more while simultaneously monitoring for intrusions. LTGS President and General Manager, Dan Tudahl, primarily attributes the new contract to the company's proactive approach with customers. Tudahl also points to Layered Tech's dedication to transparency in customer communication as an advantage that helped retain the SBA account. "We maintain open lines of communication with our clients so there is no guesswork regarding the status of their system," he said. "We want them to know as much about their data's security and management as we do, and we hope this helps them sleep just a little better at night knowing their systems are performing as expected and secured at all times. Our focus is always on our customers and ensuring our services deliver an unparalleled customer experience.
