Car services platform Tuhu files for Hong Kong listing, joining a slew of Chinese companies minimize U.S delisting risk 2 hours ago Vehicle service platform Tuhu, whose backed include Chinese tech giant Tencent, has filed for a listing on the Hong Kong stock exchange, joining a slew of Chinese companies to replace its listing plan on US to Hong Kong amid escalating tension between the U.S and China. Tuhu filed its listing application on Monday to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, without revealing the timeline and size of it. Joint sponsor of the deal are Goldman Sachs, UBS, CICC, and BofA Securities, they were not immediately available for comment on Monday. Founded in 2011 in Shanghai, Tuhu offers a wide range of services online and in stores for car owners ranging from tyres, battery and chassis replacement parts to other car maintenance and repair services. As of first half of 2022, the company had 86.4 million registered users for its app, making it the largest online services platform for car owners in China. It also operate 4,200 workshops and 25,000 stores across China. The company booked a revenue of 11.8 billion yuan (US$1.27 billion) in 2020, representing a year-over-year increase of 34%. However, Tuhu hasn’t yet achieve profit, booking a net loss of 951.9 million yuan in the first half of this year, after reporting a net loss of 3.1 billion yuan in 2021. Tuhu completed its latest funding round in 2018 when it raised US$450 million from investor led by Tencent, and private equity firms Carlyle Group and Sequoia Capital. \ Tuhu’s filing came at the time when U.S listed Chinese companies are facing threat of delisting as early as next year if they do not comply with US auditing oversight after three consecutive years. In order to minimize the delisting risk, these companies seeks for a secondary listing or even a primary listing in Hong Kong. SHARE
