India Digest: Kirlosar Oil to buy La-Gajjar Machineries; Tech Mahindra to sell Pak unit

Ishita Russell June 21, 2017: &nbsp Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd will acquire submersible pumpsets manufacturer La-Gajjar Machineries Pvt. Ltd, while Tech Mahindra has agreed to sell its unit, LCC Pakistan Pvt Ltd, for $5.2 million. Kirlosar Oil to acquire La-Gajjar Machineries Diesel engines and generator sets manufacturer Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd  said it will acquire Gujarat-based submersible pumpsets manufacturer La-Gajjar Machineries Pvt. Ltd. While the   Nalanda Capital -backed company did not disclose the size of the deal, in a stock market disclosure, Kirloskar Oil said that the final acquisition price would be 7.89 times the 2017-18 EBITDA of La-Gajjar. La-Gajjar’s revenue for 2015-16 stood at Rs 317 crore, and unaudited turnover for 2016-17 was at Rs 400 crore. “This acquisition underlines our commitment and focus to consolidate and deliver in the field of energy, water and food,” the company said in a statement. The is expected to help the company to improve its footprint in the electric pumps segment through La-Gajjar’s Raindrop and Varuna brands of submersible and mono-block pumps, it added. The transaction is expected to closed in the next three months. Tech Mahindra to sell Pakistan unit for $5.2m Indian IT major Tech Mahindra Ltd , through its step down subsidiary LCC Middle East FZ LLC, has agreed to sell its 100% shareholding in LCC Pakistan Pvt Ltd to Talkpool AG, Switzerland for $5.2 million . According to a stock exchange filing, LCC Pakistan recorded revenue of $11.8 million for the year ended March 2017, which amounts to 0.27% of Tech Mahindra’s total revenue. The transaction is likely to be completed by 31 October, it added. Founded in 2000, Talkpool provides a range of network design, engineering and managed services designs.
