We all know the value and importance of filtered water. In college, my Brita pitcher was my surest source of cool refreshment and much-needed hydration after long nights of merriment. Filtered water helps to cut down on waste, and allows us to forgo purchasing bottle after bottle of Dasani or Evian. That said, there are improvements to been made in terms of at-home filtration systems like Brita, and the startup KOR believes they have the answer. The project started in 2014 as a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $60,000 to take their idea for a better water filter from concept to reality, and now the KOR Water Fall is available for everyone . There are a few things that set the Water Fall apart from other water filters you’re probably more familiar with. First and foremost, the filter is separate from the carafes that hold your water. This allows you to keep the filter out on your counter, freeing up valuable fridge space. The system uses a patented all-natural coconut filter that will last for four months, about twice as long as your standard Brita filter should last. Aside from the functionality of the system, KOR stands out from the competition for how beautifully it is designed. The filter stands sleek and tall, with a look that would feel at home in any modern home. The carafes are akin to those that you might find at a trendy outdoor summertime lunch spot. Compared to the bulky design of most other water filters I’ve seen, there’s no contest. KOR Water Instagram
