Kerv acquires Gyrocom and hits £50m

Nov 12, 2021

UKHotViews Mid-market specialist, Kerv, has made another acquisition. The firm has acquired Surrey-based Gyrocom, a fast-growing network and security integrator with a specialisation in SD-WAN. The acquisition fills an important gap and gives Kerv the ability to offer a more complete security stack. Kerv’s existing offerings and services were focused on infrastructure transformation (notably Azure), Digital Workplace, Customer Experience, and other digital services. Gyrocom has revenue of £6-7m and a little under 30 people. While it will be integrated into backend systems such as Finance and HR, Kerv very much wants Gyrocom (like its other acquisitions) to operate as a separate division, ‘cross-pollinating’ expertise. With Gyrocom onboard, Kerv now has revenue of £50m and 400+ employees. Customers include Investec, The Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency, The Scouts Association, Harrods, Avarto and The Local Government Ombudsman. Kerv launched last July following the merger of DoubleEdge Professional Services, Foehn, and Metaphor IT. Its acquisition of cloudThing in May was its fifth in 10 months and we sense that while it now has key technology areas covered, acquisitions will continue. It is backed by LDC (the private equity arm of Lloyds Banking Group) and led by ex-Six Degrees industry veterans Alastair Mills (as Executive Chairman) and Mike Ing (as Managing Director).
