I play Magic: The Gathering and amass large quantities of LEGO Got it! Got it! Got it! Wizards of the Coast The learning curve on a game like Magic: The Gathering can sometimes be steep. Even some of us who have been playing since late 1994 can find some difficulty in the way the game has advanced. Thankfully, Wizards of the Coast created the Jumpstart line of cards back in 2020. If you aren't familiar, Jumpstart is basically a grab-two-boosters and go version of the game. You mix two boosters together to form a truncated 40-card deck (generally decks are 60 cards) and then you are ready to play (with someone else who has a 40-card deck). Each booster pack has a theme, so it helps expose new players to different styles of play. It's a fun way for beginners to get into the game, and a quick way for old hats to find a new way to play. Friday, December 2nd marks the 2022 Jumpstart release and it is full of engaging and powerful cards. Check out the full gallery of cards if you have a few hours. There's a lot to be had with these 20 card booster packs. Each pack contains a theme description card, one or two rare or mythic rare cards and an anime-inspired card. There are also enough lands between the two packs to get you started. There are some limitations to Jumpstart cards however. Well, one really. Jumpstart cards are only legal in Eternal formats (Legacy, Vintage, and Commander). This means you can't play them in the most common Standard format style of play, or any format. That's not too big a deal, as the purpose of the Jumpstart cards is to get in and get playing, without the intricacies of deck building. You literally shuffle two boosters and that's it. There are more than 40 themes in this years Jumpstart collection including Knights, Vehicles, four different Zombies and Gross themes, Spicy, Speedy, Fiery and so on. A Multi-Headed Gigantic mash-up is totally possible. These themes help expose all the possibilities that exist within the Magic: The Gathering realm of creatures and spells. MORE FOR YOU
