About Johnston's Port 33
Johnston's Port 33 is a service based company that continually strives to provide customers with the latest technology and flexibility. Johnston's Port 33 has the furthest north, ice-free, year-round operation on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System. Port 33 accommodates large and small volumes of dry bulk commodities, including fertilizer, pig iron, glass cullet, coal, petroleum coke, calcined coke, scrap steel, cement, clinker, sand, zinc, alumina, iron oxide, fly ash, mill scale and slag with more than 40,000 tons of open bulk material storage on concrete pads, and a 68,000-ton fertilizer storage facility with seven separate load-outs. Approximately 1.8 million tons are shipped and received annually. Because it has a wide variety of handling services and equipment, Port 33 can load and unload from truck to barge, or barge to truck. Five docks are available for simultaneous loading and unloading.
