Beijing-based Chinese online IT education platform JiKe Academy has raised US$22 million series B financing from SIG China and BlueRun Ventures, according to a statement on its official website. Founded in 2009, JiKe which provides online courses on Android, iOS, Java and HTML5 programs. It previously received an undisclosed series A financing from BlueRun Ventures. The company says it will use the latest proceeds on expanding its online courses and building up its team. Its main platform JiKeXueYuan.com currently has 120,000 registered students and offers over 300 IT courses. China's education sector has seen a number of venture investment deals lately. In August, Baidu Inc. acquired Chinese online education platform Chuanke.com for an undisclosed amount. A month earlier, Beijing-based online education platform Yuantiku.com completed US$15 million new round of financing from Matrix Partners China and IDG Capital. Around the same time, Beijing-based educational institution Universal Education Group received tens of millions U.S. dollars in series C financing from Baidu.
