March 14, 2023 The transport industry is rapidly moving towards the use of electricity. And the new reality demands action – now. In order to meet the increased demands for more responsible transport, IVECO has entered into a new cooperation agreement with the energy company E.ON. Together, they will contribute to an upgrade of the infrastructure in Scandinavia for the introduction of electric vehicles. With the increased demand for electric vehicles in the transport industry, the agreement on charging solutions in Denmark, Sweden and Norway comes at a good time. And it is no coincidence that the collaboration has been entered into just now. IVECO has recently launched the new electric van, IVECO eDAILY, also known as the classic and popular DAILY’s ‘electric twin’. With the collaboration, the customer can get an integrated solution where IVECO supplies the vehicle, and E.ON supplies and supports the IVECO customers with charging stations throughout Scandinavia. – The transport industry is facing a major change, and charging can seem like a challenge. It must fit into the logistics and transport pattern, so it often requires tailor-made solutions. This is precisely why this is an important agreement for us. Together with E.ON, we are leading the way and can now deliver a complete electric solution with both IVECO eDAILY and charging, says Kåre Neergaard, Business Line Manager for Light, Medium & Heavy trucks at IVECO North Europe & Baltics. The electricity market only goes one way The new IVECO eDAILY is IVECO’s answer to a zero-emission van. And it seems that IVECO has bet on the right thing. According to Kåre Neergaard, the market is increasingly moving towards electricity. – Together with E.ON, we are leading the way and can now deliver a complete electric solution with both IVECO eDAILY and charging, says Kåre Neergaard, Business Line Manager for Light, Medium & Heavy trucks at IVECO North Europe & Baltics. Kåre elaborates: – The market for vans is going the electric way, and we expect that the market share for electric vans in Denmark will increase strongly in the coming years. In Denmark, it is currently only 6%. But sales of vans are increasing every month, and there is no doubt that this is the way things are going. Despite the otherwise positive predictions for the electric vehicle market, charging infrastructure still lags behind. Customers don’t have to worry Therefore, the new collaboration is also for E.ON an important step in the development and goal of improving the charging network in the Nordic countries. Christian Halleløv, Head of Global eTransport at E.ON, states: – We are really happy about the collaboration and to be able to help IVECO customers with an integrated electrical solution in Scandinavia in this way. We are continuously working on the green conversion of the transport industry, and now the time has come to convert the heavier vehicles to electricity. With IVECO’s upcoming range of heavier electric vehicles, it will be easier for transport companies to choose electric. Our common goal is to make the transition to electric vehicles easy for IVECO customers. Among other things, we will achieve this by making it possible for customers to charge where the need is, e.g. where the cars are loaded or spent the night. And Christian Halleløv is satisfied with being able to contribute to easier use of the future electric vans. He continues: – The whole idea of the collaboration is to take the worry away from the customer. IVECO’s salespeople are good at charging solutions, but they don’t have to be experts. When IVECO has sold an IVECO eDAILY, E.ON comes to the scene with the experts and supports the customer with all the questions they may have about the chargers: whether there is enough power at the address, or if they have to be dug out. And if they need to charge outside the city, they get a customer card so they can charge in public places. We help with all that. Together, IVECO and E.ON have prepared three packages that they offer to IVECO eDAILY customers: a small, a medium and a large. The packages include, among other things, a solution adapted to the customer’s need to add or remove batteries when the car is purchased, so that the customer can optimize mileage and load capacity. *The article has been translated based on the content of IT-Kanalen by it-kanalen.dk .
